Bridge ATX Workbooks
From December of 2009 until August of 2010, I was working with a remarkable team of Career Coaches via Austin Career Coaching. I loved the Austin Career Coaching program because it allowed me to know that the people that I was working with all had the same baseline level of knowledge before I started working with them. When Austin Career Coaching stopped running their workshops I wanted to come up with a solution that would still meet the same needs. I decided to write several workbooks to help job seekers.
Workbook Topics
Identifying Your Dream Job - And Telling Your Story to Get It - This was the first workbook in the series. Everyone who has been through it so far has absolutely loved the new ways that they are thinking about their job search. The 66 page workbook goes into great detail on how you can define what you love, what you're good at, what your boundaries are. From there you need to take your strengths and tell a story that will compell someone to hire you for that strength. While this is very helpful for anyone who is going through a career transition, it is especially helpful for people who are looking to do something brand new.
Using Online Resources to Identify Companies and Contacts - In every job search you need to understand who your target companies are and how you add new target companies to your list. You become more powerful in your job search if you go into a conversation with information about that organization. This workbook helps you to determine how to identify those companies and then what you do once you've identified them. A large portion of this workbook is devoted to the Professional Tool LinkedIN and how to use it effectively in your search.
Alternatives to the Apply Button - The "Apply Button" on most company websites is an invitation to enter a black hole. Only 7% of jobs are filled via the Apply Button. This workbook focuses in on what you need to do instead of playing the numbers game by hitting the Apply Button all day long.

Networking for Job Seekers - Many people have been told they need to be out networking, but few people really understand HOW or WHY. This workbook will teach you how to network more effectively. For people who are uncomfortable networking, this workbook will make you very comfortable going out with a goal and an idea and meeting more people.
How the Executive Search Is Different - I've been working with executives for over a year. Their job search is dramatically different than a normal job seekers job search. The process takes longer. Executives are strategic and operational experts. This workbook has been created to help executives understand how to be more effective in their job search.
Reclaim Your Power - Many Job Seekers get into a state that I affectionately call "head trash". Some have been laid off, some have just been in the search for a long time. This leads individuals to feel they are powerless and that they will never find a good job again. This is a lie that job seekers tell themselves. This workbook is designed to help individuals get back to the most powerful day in their life and reclaim that feeling going forward.
Each Workbook is designed to work independently on its own. However, we believe that each of the workbooks are important parts of the job search process.
